Source.list파일에 대해서 갑자기 궁금한점이 있어 질문을 올립니다

우분투를 사용하면서 source.list파일은 단지 내가 설치하고자 하는 프로그램들의
위치이다…정도로 인식하고 있습니다.
여기서 궁금한점은 source.list의 내용중
deb http://kr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ hardy universe
deb-src http://kr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ hardy universe
이런게 있는데 여기에 hardy라고 명기가 되어 있습니다.
또는 deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/gscrot/ubuntu hardy main
우분투 소스트리는 아니더라도 ppa로 설정한 경우도 있습니다.
이때도 hardy라고 되어 있는데 이번에 8.10으로 업하면(이름을 몰라서…)
source.list의 내용도 바꿔줘야 되지 않나요?

그리고 ppa는 8.10 이전의 즉 hardy로 되어 있을텐데 충돌도 날것 같고…

8.10은 이트레핏 아이벡스(Intrepid Ibex)…라고 읽어야 하나요? 여튼 [i:3p9efhxh]/etc/apt/sources.list[/i:3p9efhxh] 파일을 열어보면 상단에

라고 되어 있는데 여기서 intrepid이 8.10의 코드명(?)입니다. 저절로 변경하는 것 같네요. 그 이후로는

라고 되어 있는데요, 보시면 주석 처리가 되지 않은 라인은 인트레핏으로 변경이 되어 있고 하디(hardy)가 그대로 적힌 라인은 모두 주석 처리가 되어 있네요. 8.10 업글 후에 파트너쉽 어쩌고 하면서 사용할 수 없는 뭔가가 있다고 뜬 것 같은데요… (자세히 안 읽어봐서;;:wink: 아마 그런 점 때문에 몇몇 라인은 업데이트가 안 된 것 같습니다. 이건 아마도 10월 30일 이후에는 모두 사용할 수 있는 것이 아닌가 조심스레 생각해봅니다. :)

잘 알지는 못하지만 현재 8.10으로 업해놓은 상태라 코드를 보고 답변 올립니다. 저보다 훨씬 잘 아시는 분이 더 좋은 답변 해주시기를 기다리면서… 8-)

우분투가 업그레이드는 패키지 업이고
판 업그레이드라고 해야 맞을것 같습니다.
보통 판 업그레이드 ( 8.04 -> 8.10 )를 하면…
소스리스트에
중요 메타 패키지 저장소는 intrepid(인트레피드)로 바꿔지지요

그러나 개인 저장소는 그대로 하디로 나오겠지요 보통 판 업그레이드 후 엔 전버전 ppa는 자동으로 주석처리 되는데.
아닌 건은 지우는 것이 좋습니다.
그러나 또 한 다행인 건 ppa 가 새로운 버전 패키지를 따라가지 못합니다.
그래서 보통 개인 ppa 가 업데이트를 하지는 못하지요

추가적으로 8.04 에서 컴파일 한거 중 사용가능한 프로그램도 있고 불가한 것도 있습니다.
일반적인 어플들은 반 정도는 사용 가능하더군요.
ms 98꺼가 2000에서도 잘 되듯 ^^
